Have dinner with Grade 12's students

On december 31, i went out to have dinner with my classmates and grade 12's students. It is one our portfolio work. After the discussion, we decided to go to Tacos, a famous foreign restaurant in Nanjing. We went there by bus and arrived there at about 6 o'clock.
At the beginning of the dinner, we talk about our school life with grade 12's student, and hope that they can give us some advices about their study ways in the school. Of course, this dinner's purpose is to learning some skill to have western food. Such as the way to use folk and knife. Also, we need to know some western food. After we order the food, we waitted for about 10 minutes. Then, our food came```except Bill's. We started to eat them, and start to learn the way to have them. At first, i think it is very easy. But, in fact, it is a kind of knowledge. If we want to do it well, we still to spend lots of time on it. During the dinner, we told grade 12's students about their score that we gave them in Mr.Gallinelli's class, and they were surprised that we nearly them whole high marks.
About 30 minutes later, we nearly finished our food. But to our surprised, Bill's food still not here. We told the waitress about this, and he turn back quickly. 1 minutes later, two pizza came. But we just order 1. After we cancel one, we all looked at bill to eat, and he looked very nervous. What a interesting day that we spend. Lots of things that we had learnt in the dinner.

WuWeishan's sculpture exhibition

Today, we went to a sculpture exhibition which made by WuWeishan, a famous artist in china.
There were lots of art work in the showcase. This exhibition was held in Nanjing University. So, it take us half an hour to get there. All of the artwork inside were made by himself and his student. The artwork that they made are all contemporary.
We have to choose one of the artwork as our critique work. I choose the artwork was called Ah bin. He is a very famous musician in Chinese history. The artist, of course , is WuWeishan himself. The artwork was made in 2007. The shape of the artwork just like An bin sitting on a big stone, and his body just like a triangle. The line of his artwork are very straight and natural. All the sculpture is the same colour, mixture brown and black. The texture of the artwork looked very well, because it is smoothly and cool. From this artwork's face, we can see that Ah bin was sad and looked at something carefully. The subject of the artwork is come from folk things. An bin is famous because of his songs were made when he was beggar. When i first saw this artwork, i can see the sadness and sorrow from An bin's eye and from the line. I can see the position of him is not well.
This artwork make me feel sad and sorrow because of its colour, line and appearance of the artwork's face. This artwork make me think about the life in old social and the environment that time. The government did not care about beggar that time. Many people become beggar because of poor. When i saw the artwork, the blind eye of Ah bin is the first thing that remind me. When we walked across XinJiekou's underground mall, we could see lots of beggar there, and some of them are also play music to the people for money. It is very sad to see it.
Live in the world, as a human, first thing that we should know is respect others. From this artwork, we can deeply felt it because it is an example of people who achieve successful from a beggar. In fact, he is blind, but he did not give up. He keeps an optimistic mind by making music from the natural. It is very important for us to learn. This artwork's intention is to tell people that everyone has their own life and we should have an optimistic mind to face everything in the world and never give up.
I like the artwork because it tells me many truths that we should pay attention in our life. Such as respect others and when we meet the problem, we should never give up. This artworks line is the most special thing of this artwork. It can make people think about the sad environment and sorrowful of blind musician An bin, and also the appearance of his face can remind people think about this.
I think other people might appreciate the artwork. First, this artwork was made by famous artist. Second, it can make us have a feeling that the social state at Ah bin's time. Third, it can tell the people that we should continue our purpose and do not say "give up" anytime and anywhere. So i think other might appreciate the artwork.
